Maria Fitzgerald (Mia)

Irish Based Singer, Actor & Music Producer

"Mia is a charming charismatic chanteuse, whose voice crosses over various genres of music, from Classical to Musical Theatre with a particular passion for cool old-fashioned jazz!"

The Forty Foot at Sandycove is where Maria Fitzgerald takes a daily dive into the deep. But the multi-talented, award winning singer is set to take a plunge of a different nature  with the release of her long-awaited debut album ‘Little Trip To Heaven’.

Already one of Ireland’s best known ‘event’ artists, Maria’s music credentials are extensive both behind a mic and behind the scenes as a much in demand producer, collaborator and performer.

However, this self produced, self funded project is drawn from Maria’s own personal musical passions and the end result is a vintage cool jazz styled album.

With childhood days spent watching Doris Day movies on rainy Saturday afternoons, the album unsurprisingly plays homage to old Hollywood Cinema, while Maria also gets to explore her life-long love of New York Jazz.

‘Little Trip to Heaven’ as a result is an album where every note sung and played has meaning. The sound is seductive. The arrangements crafted with care and fine-detail by musical arranger David Wray.

And the emotion of the project, which had a gestation of years, oozes from the sultry and mellifluous voice of the Wexford-born singer.

Fitzgerald’s musical credentials are wide. She has spent years honing a craft, and her ability to crossover vocal styles from classical to modern contemporary makes her much in demand as a singer in the music industry.

Her music background is coupled with a zen-like lifestyle. In the last year Maria also graduated as a yoga teacher, and is a regular at the ‘Forty Foot’ where her daily dips are part of her holistic approach to well being.

Singing ‘Little Trip to Heaven’ is another extension of this desire to express the essence of her true self. This is an album sung and produced with love, so precious that Maria released it under her own label MiaBelle Records.   Recorded in Dublin &  mastered by Grammy award winning audio engineer Bob Katz in Florida, USA.

Of course, the professionalism of the project comes from 15 years of experience in the music industry. Maria trained at the prestigious ‘Royal Academy of Music’ in London, graduating in 2005 having completed her major study in Musical Theatre. Maria is also a business owner in the events industry, musically coordinating hundreds of corporate and wedding events here on her home ground as well as abroad.

She has toured internationally as lead female vocalist with Irish Musical ‘To Dance on the Moon’, and was featured on The Late Late Show, TV3’s Ireland AM and on UK television station Channel 4.

She has sung in prestigious theatres including the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and the National Concert Hall; has completed a series of cabaret shows in The Regent Park Theatre in London and performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra and the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has made guest appearances with international superstar Josh Groban; Broadway Leading Man, John Owen Jones; West End star David Shannon and Oboeist David Agnew among others.

Now, Maria steps forward into her own limelight with the release of her new album ‘Little Trip to Heaven’ .
